Supercharger
The Cobalt Supercharger is a great way to enhance the performance level of the Chevy Cobalt models. The Cobalt doesn’t come with a supercharger, so purchasing an additional one and getting it installed is the way to go for all sports enthusiast and speedsters.
However, you must be careful only to purchase it from authorised Chevrolet performance parts dealers, and get it installed at an authorised Chevy service station, otherwise it may void your warranty on the vehicle as the company strictly advises not to tamper with the company wiring, or parts like engine and transmission on your own.
Price
As far as pricing is concerned, for even the cheapest conversion, you’ll have to shell out at least $3,000 + installation charges, while it could be really expensive to get complete 2.0L SC conversion done (it could be even as high as $20,000!
Unless you’re looking for some serious power boost, the performance parts such as Cobalt Supercharger shouldn’t be on your list, as additional $10,000 can give you far better options in the sports car range, if you’re planning to buy a new car.
There have been lot of confusions about the Supercharger Kit for 2.2L, but later GM had declared that they’ll be releasing a revamped supercharger, though it never got launched in the market.
So, be sure about what can be installed on your vehicle, and ensure that it doesn’t hamper the warranty either!
